Specials, records, radio shows and live appearances in both club and cabaret. This actual watch was primarily used as Howerd's'travelling clock' throughout his illustrious career, between 1964 and his death in 1992, after which it was auctioned along with most of the star's property. Please see all the photographs of the authenticating paperwork providing full provenance. Owned from new by Howerd (see receipt) this automatic, 18ct solid gold men's Omega Seamaster De Ville was originally supplied on an 18ct solid gold bracelet. The next owner, who bought the watch from a reputable jeweller (see paperwork) had the present 9ct diamond-cut bracelet fitted (see photos) after much searching for one which complemented the watch in both period and style.
The rarer pin-stripe dial is a feature of the watch and is slightly toned with its 54 years of ageing but this, in my opinion, only adds to the watch's character. This is a very collectable piece of horology and a must for any fan or historian of this great era of British comedy which was so well epitomised by Howerd's own sparkling and often controversial career. I have taken close-up, high resolution pictures and these, being a true representation of the watch, provide an accurate description of the article for sale. The bracelet has a three bar adjustment and will fit a wrist up to 7 3/4 iches. Free p&p only applies to inside the UK.
